Why Try In-Spirited Coaching?

Coaching is not psychotherapy

Coaching is not consulting

Coaching is not mentoring

Coaching is not leadership training

It has emerged out of leadership and organizational fields, the science of accompaniment in its various forms, and has parallels with fields such as physical therapy, where movement is applied to enhance blocked movement, and create new strength.

Coaching is an interaction between coach and client that supports value and mission based alignment.

Coaching is a safe holding environment where truth - things as they are or as they have been - can be shared, so that action can be taken from the true here.

Coaching is a lab for trying on new things in a controlled setting.  It is a cocoon where change can be enacted with the cushion of a surrounding structure.  It is a scaffolding placed around the building of a life or an organization that can be climbed for better vision and work in areas.

Coaching is interested in and curious about change, and bringing about fuller life and range and movement.

I recommend In-Spirited Coaching as a bargain during these challenging times!
In-Spirited coach, Joanne Cahoon, has a depth and breadth of knowledge; she is skilled and compassionate and demonstrated the most powerful listening I have ever experienced.  Joanne showed me how to sort and distinguish what I was communicating, so that I could create a life that I love.

Since coaching, I have identified and secured a new job in a new state and moved
to a whole new place!  I have improved my familial and personal relationships,
my health and my professional possibilities with the techniques learned in Coaching.  All of these outcomes were invisible before In-Spirited Coaching. Coaching is well worth it!

My main goal was to figure out why I was not living life to the fullest.  I was not miserable,
yet I felt a vague dissatisfaction with life as I was experiencing it.   Joanne was able to challenge me with questions that really got me to explore the values and views that I held in my life.
She suggested activities and exercises that I felt were appropriate for me and the way I like to work.  She also provided me with lots of valuable insights, suggestions, quotes and resources
that served to empower and encourage me in the process.

As my coach, Joanne was able to lead me through a powerful shift in perspective that I can honestly say, has completely changed my life!  I now have more freedom to establish big and exciting goals for myself and I feel I now have more courage to pursue these goals with passion and determination.

Joanne is a great listener, a deep thinker, and a kind companion to have along
on your journey, whether it be as a life counselor, a spiritual director, or as a
career adviser. I can offer no higher recommendation to anyone.

Life Coaching with Joanne Cahoon helped me to uncover areas of my life that
were blocking me from making the life changes that I longed for.  I had dreams
but day by day I continued on with the duties of getting on with life.  I could not move until I began to look at what I valued in my life.
Making a list of joy bringing activities brought excitement back into my life and a desire to move, and I began
to look at my dreams as a reality.  From my list, came actually doing these things and CELEBRATING them and myself.  Much work took place between the weeks
of our conversations, and I began to see movement and JOY and ENERGY return to my life.  Joanne gave me the tools to act on a change I felt was much needed.

I was lucky to find my coach. Joanne's positive energy, her enthusiasm, patience, great capacity to help me see things more clearly, flexibility, and humanity were of great value to me. I gained more confidence and awareness about what I wanted to achieve. Thanks for all the support.

A note from Joanne:

I am a member of the International Coach Federation, and a graduate of the International Coach Academy.  My own journey has included the experience of being accompanied in many forms, and
I know the value of good companions and the difference such companionship can make in one's
vision and action.  I believe that it is a privilege to accompany others -- and I am passionate about individuals and mission-focused organizations who truly want to make significant, humble, faltering,
and amazing progress in positive ways.  I wish to serve these steps however I may.

In addition, I hold a Doctor of Ministry degree, with particular focus on spirituality and formation.  I am a coach - and act according to coaching's distinct role and purpose.  I am also a teacher, presenter, consultant, writer, editor, spiritual director and retreat leader -- and worked in ministry to and with youth (and those who love them) for over two decades.  I provide many services that are ministry related (see www.in-spirited.com).

In whatever setting I find myself, I know the inexpressible value of presence and trust the Spirit.
